related to the bombings. we'll keep you posted as we hear more. >> some 100 families in a small louisiana town still cannot go home a day after a train derails forcing residents to get to safety. laura is live from our news room with more details on this. >> you know, it's been a scary situation for residents who live within a mile of that derailment. most unable to come even near their homes. the train derailed sunday afternoon near the small community about 60 miles west of baton rouge, louisiana. a union pacific spokesman says there are several cars they are concerned about. one involved in this 27 car derailment was leaking sodium hydroxide which can cause injuries or even death if inhaled or touches the skin. a third car was leaking a flammable liquid. all of those leaks have been plugged up. so far, small air pollution detectors have not picked up anything. three other cars contain flammable liquids that did not leak but they need to have the contents carefully extracted which the teams hope to finish up tonight. one passerby was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries and the t

so it was on approach to landing, but this is different than the louisiana flight where it was actually during a landing, so was it a mechanical failure? was there something in the cargo that contributes to this crash. those are the primary questions that investigators will start looking at immediately. >> hey, phil, the a-300 used more these days for cargo or for passenger -- as a passenger jet. >> i think it's transitioned now to becoming a little bit more of a cargo plane. it's still used for passenger flights, but because of its size, relatively limited in text of configuration, it's more -- you see it more for cargo. >> and accidents, incidents in terms of its safety history? >> i don't know the exact numbers, but i do know it's not one of those that immediately jumps out and you say oh, okay, well, we've had problems with this plane and i'm not surprised that they say there was a crash here. you know, that's one of the things that investigators look at. was there a particular problem with this type of aircraft in the past. at first blush it does not jump out at me.
